About this speaker

I am a first-generation student of Trinidadian heritage. Through growing up in American schooling, I’ve witnessed the disparities between first-generation students and students who have parents with higher education. I firmly believe education is a right, as it not only contributes to career but also to nearly every aspect of life, including relationships and health. This value empowers me to work to close the educational gap amongst students through sharing “family secrets to success,” enabling mentorship, and guiding the acquisition and application of key skills.
