About this speaker
Misa is a first-generation college graduate of Colby College. As the son of Mexican immigrants, attending college was a long-shot dream made possible when Misa received the QuestBridge Match Scholarship to Colby in 2018, where he double majored in Latin American and Educational Studies. Misa now works at Colby as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs Coordinator supporting the college’s FLI (First-Generation/Low Income) Program and International Students’ Program. Misa is also engaged in educational equity and anti-classism work as a consultant and trainer for Class Action. Apart from DEIJ work, Misa is also passionate about the arts and storytelling, and has experience with dance, photography, and filmmaking.
